[Fourth exhibition] Homelands

The Centro Cultural Contraviento inaugurates a new theme: Homelands.

[Fourth exhibition] Homelands

We begin a new year at the Centro Cultural Contraviento and launch a new theme: Homelands, a new axis of artistic and cultural conversation in our space.

We share our text for this stage:

The Homeland. In the singular and capitalized. The land of our ancestors. Our land. The one that hurts to write in lowercase. The homeland. Minimal and immense. The one that protects and abandons. The one that is both wound and scar.

The homelands. In the plural. Surface, thickness, color, scents, landscapes, sounds, textures. What is transmitted and untransmittable. The shelter and the skin. Home and homelessness. What is known and unknown. Intimacy and exposure.

It comes from the past. Inconclusive. It passes through the present like the wind, seeks something, and departs toward the future without saying if it will return.

Some inhabit everything. Some are boundless. Some are minuscule. Some are intimate. Some live within others. They differ and become the same. They recognize, deny, and legitimize each other.

The Homeland, the homeland, and the homelands. Their endless questions: Is it one, are they all, or none at all? Is it found in dreams, or is it an inconclusive dream? Does it sustain us, or do we sustain it?
